Here are some things that will help eliminate heartburn without drug therapy. These lifestyle changes will also make any drug therapy work better.

 

  • Avoid large meals
  • Avoid the spicy or acidic foods that bother your stomach
  • No food or drink within 2 hours of bedtime
  • Wear loose fitting clothes
  • Quit smoking
  • Raise the head of the bed 4 inches (put brick or something similar under the bedposts)
